AHA MALAYSIA BRINGS BUS CRASH VICTIMS HOME

KUALA LUMPUR, June 8, 2006 - American Home Assurance Company, Malaysia Branch (AHA), a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is directly involved in coordinating the medical care, evacuation and repatriation of victims of the recent bus crash in Shaanxi, China. Eleven of the 17 Malaysian tourists involved in the accident were covered under the "AIG Assist" travel insurance policy provided by AHA.

Of the 11 insured, six have been evacuated by charter aircraft, with logistics handled by AHA's medical and assistance services partner, International SOS. One AHA client is under medical supervision in China and is to be evacuated as soon as medically feasible. The remains of the four victims that perished as a result of the accident are in the process of being repatriated to Malaysia.

The estimated cost of the special medical aircraft charter is approximately RM1 million (USD$300,000). The evacuation and repatriation costs of all those insured under AIG Assist will be completely covered by their policies. The average travel insurance policy cost for those evacuated was RM100 (US$27).

The Chief Executive Officer of AHA Malaysia, Mr. Brad Bennett said: "Our heartfelt condolences go out to those who have suffered as a result of this unfortunate event.
