Rakan Cop Nonsense

I really do think this RAKAN COP initiative is fundamentally flawed.
And I'll tell you why.

Policing is the job of the Police. By "Police," I mean "The Police,"
not "Polis" which means "city" in Greek, as in "Acropolis." See
http://www.athensguide.gr/pop/acropolis.html for details.

The Polis in Malaysia are generally corrupt, ineffective, inefficient
and a whole bunch of smokers. That has been my experience anyway. And
until I see evidence to the contrary, this impression will remain, I'm
afraid.

Instead of doing their job, which is crime prevention, making their
presence felt and presenting a deterrence; investigation (have you
solved the murder of your IGP from the 1970s or apprehend the driver
to the BAC 3061 bus that knocked me down in front of the USSR Embassy
in 1975, if not, there you are, you can't investigate even if your
life depended on it) the Royal Malaysian Polis (PDRM) prefer to sit in
the air-conditioned Pondok Polis and smoke, watch TV as I have myself
witnessed on numerous nights as I walk my dog.

The fact that their silly electrical chargeman "boiler-suit" uniform
is midnight blue doesn't help either. They can keep the blue-black
trousers, but for God's sake, put on a sparkling white shirt. Barulah
orang boleh nampak.

In their near-black ninja camouflage, the Polis love to hide behind
bushes where they can observe you beat the traffic light and then stop
you and make you feel humiliated and then they offer to take a bribe
instead of you having a summons with the incumbent risk of getting
your Driving Licence suspended. They love to do this at faulty
traffic lights, instead to taking charge and directing the traffic.

In my neighbourhood, the Polis have partially delegated their
responsibilities to a Neighbourhood Watch private company which
charges something like RM300 a month to do the job the Polis are paid
with tax-payers' money to do in the first place.

And now, they want to further delegate their responsibilities to RAKAN
COP. This is not the first time the Polis have proven they need to
have the heads screwed on right. Remember RUKUN TETANGGA fiasco from
the 1970s?

Listen, if you silly buggers say you are understaffed, have no
manpower and all that excuses and nonsense, didn't you know there are
18,000 UN-employed graduates in Malaysia? Why can't the Polis hire
them? We could do with some thinking Polismen out there. Graduates
would fit th bill, don't you think? Instead of SPM 3rd graders.

And these graduates would also make good forest rangers (God knows we
don't have enough of Perhilitan Enforcement Officers, Forestry
Officers, etc.). We need more people who can make Environmental Impact
Assessments (EIA), DBKL Enforcement Officers and what not. Many would
agree, that the problem with the HYPOcracy we live in is that we have
excellent laws but poor, selective or random ENFORCEMENT. Sometimes
CORRUPTION is ENDEMIC (like the MPAJ scandal, the TOYOL scandal, the
Sam Value scandal and what not. At least Lim keng Yaik had the decency
to step down.)

So my suggestion is DO NOT TAKE OVER THE RESPONSIBILITES of the POLIS.
Give them the resources, manpower, what-not and wherewithal to do
their job. Stop delegating their POWER and AUTHORITY to others or else
we will have a whole bunch of vigilantes and fascist blackshirts
striking terror into the hearts of every Tom, Dick and Harry on the
streets. If you allow this to happenedd, I can very easily see a bunch
of well-meaning but misguided self-righteous masjid folk forming a
religious police pasukan and terrorising the neighbourhood...

By the same token, if we allow megalomaniacs to rule our country, they
we will a society similar to Germany under Hitler, Spain under Franco,
Italy under Mussolini, USSR under Stalin, Iraq under Saddam and have
no one to blame but ourselves for it.

OF THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY & THE INDONESIAN ARMADA
I had a chat with the Indonesian actress and Elite Supermodel Dina
Olivia Jasin* and her friends Marsila and Titi on Friday and a retired
Brigadier General on Saturday about the incident where a warship from
the RMN and the Indon Armada "touched." Its funny how people who have
different backgrounds and levels of understanding can reach the same
conclusion ~ the two navies should work together to resolve piracy in
the Straits of Malacca instead of fighting each other. Why are they
too stupid to realise that they are both supposed to uphold law and
order and NOT fight each other. They are both on the SAME SIDE, their
COMMON enemy are the PIRATES!

Ngok, betul lah!

A friend from Penang has written to me to say that for someone who
professes peace, love and sharing, she sees a lot of HATRED in my
writing. So let me settle this ISSUE once and for all and then we
don't have to talk about it any more. (I hate having to keep repeating
myself ~ I'd rather make progress and go to the next level than go
around in circles.) LOVE and ANGER are flip-sides of the same coin,
the opposite is APATHY, or in the case of Malaysia, TIDAK-APATHY! So
make that paradigm shift and stop being in the trap of being a silly
and annoying moron! She threw a shoe or something at a woodpecker and
she wants to tell me about HATRED. Wait till you see RAGE! Like when
the spirit of the woodpecker pecks into the depths of your soul and
find it totally devoid of love... And then you wonder why you're on
the wrong side of 30 and still single? Perhaps you need to take a look
at that obese mass of protoplasm you call your body through your
newly-acquired spectacles (no, not the ones you sat on, the new pair)
and see what others see when they look at you! That'll be an
eye-opener, for sure!

I love people, I love the world and I love are the creatures in it. In
fact, I just love all of Allah's Creation, from the quark to the
space-time continuum to the Cosmos in infinite dimensions. But their
are EXCEPTIONS. The exceptions are the people, the system, the
processes or whatever that undermine the things that I treasure,
cherish and relish. Let's take for example that TOYOL character. I'm
sure most of you remember a photo of a defiant TOYOL in the Malay Mail
with the headline NO HARM DONE! This TOYOL has been telling that lie
to himself for so long that he actually believes it. And his CRONIES,
the ass-licking, boot polishing, ampu bodek, carry-balls CRONIES
re-inforce this delusion. Don't you think its CRIMINAL that TOYOL is
still in office and has access to State documents and can cover this
tracks, Enron-style with a shredding machine? WHY DOESN'T the Bachelor
Sultan ot the Pradana Pak just charge the bugger and have him stand
TRIAL?

Now picture this: the PRADANA PAK in his executive or RMAF heli saying
TERKEJUT when he saw the environmental devastation over Bukit Cerakah.
Surely, he has flown in choppers before. Has he never bothered to look
out of the window? How can you see but not observe?

P.S.
* I have Dina's address if anybody wants to send her fan mail.

Waalaikum salam,

Well..lets hear from the rest...
