Copyright 2003-2006 Azlan Adnan Legal NoticeGet your Mobile 03- number now!
Homeline Wireless Service is a wireless service offered by TM, where customers can enjoy voice, fax and internet/data applications with a better quality of service (CDMA is the underlying technology on which 3G was built). It provides an alternative service to normal Homeline/Businessline telephony.
Call Charges
Call Charges are as per the normal PSTN tariff structure.
TM offers an option to select your preferred type of Mobile Wireless phone set (choice of 3 models in the photo above). Only the Huawei C506 supports fax and internet/data applications. The Huawei C2205 and Motorola W150i both only support voice and SMS.
No rental is charged for the Mobile Wireless phone set and customers are required to purchase the mobile phone set from TMpoint.
If you live in Kota Warisan or Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, your CDMA phone number with start with 03-8731 XXXX and not 03-8706 XXXX. This is because Salak Tinggi is a border town (with 06-) and you may get inadvertant access through the Nilai transmitter (for which you will be charged 06- outstation rates). To resolve this issue, you wll be given a Semenyih or Dengkil number starting with 03-8731 XXXX. This will force your phone to use the Dengkil transmitter, and not the Nilai transmitter, thus giving you a lower rate when making calls to 03- numbers.
Undocumented Benefits
Get two CDMA phones registered in the same exchange, i.e. 03-8731 XXXX, and give one handset to a person living outstation, say studying at UMS or Unimas. You can then make calls to each other and be charged local call rates!
You may now apply for TM Retail's Consumer and Business Products at the:
Pejabat Pos Mini Kota Warisan
Wisma Azlan, 6 Jalan Airport City 2
Airport City Business Centre (next to Salak Tinggi Station)

1) You can't receive sms from or send sms to 012, 014, 016 and 017 numbers for the time being as DiGi and Maxis haven't implemented support for CDMA, even though they have already signed MOUs with TM (can only begrudgingly give token support to competitor, ma!). Word has it that Maxis will implement CDMA support in September 2006 ~ Watch this space!
2) You have to pay RM10 stamp duty upfront.
3) You have to sign up for a one-year contract, minimum.
4) You no longer can get a Nokia CDMA phone. This is because their contract wasn't renewed as TM wants Nokia to focus on Celcom. Tough shit, I know.
Anyway, if you have a look at the CDMA call rates, you will realise CDMA will kill all existing mobile phone service providers with their really, really cheap rates (same as your existing landline, ma!).

NUR ALIA AZRI
To Whom It May Concern:
TESTIMONIAL FOR MISS NUR ALIA AZRI
NRIC 860115-56-6072
Miss Nur Alia Azri was an intern at my Mini Post Office, stationery shop, insurance agency and real estate agency for about three weeks from June 12 to July 7, 2006. In that time, she has proven to be an invaluable asset to my various businesses. She possesses an innate sense of duty and responsibility far beyond her tender years, no doubt nurtured by the fact that she is the eldest of five siblings.
She has an affable, sunny disposition, with a cheerful smile and ready humour, which I initially mistook for playfulness and audacity. She is honest and completely trustworthy. I have entrusted her with thousands of ringgit as well as the Post Office keys and not once had she betrayed my implicit faith in her.
A student possessing high cognitive needs, she relished the challenge of taking the Pre-Contract Examinations for Insurance Agents. When the 5-day course to prepare her for these examinations was cancelled at the last minute, she decided to go ahead to take these examinations through self-study, devouring the 25-chapter textbook in as many days. Needless to say, she passed Parts A, B and C.
A fast learner, Alia is a pleasure to teach. As a former academic, my management style is not to use my employees to merely get work done, but to develop my employees through giving them work. Also, I stretch them so that they may discover new talents and abilities within themselves. Alia has taken every challenge thrown at her in her stride; not once has she grumbled or moaned when asked to come in early, work late or take on added responsibility. She has cleaned toilets, swept and mopped floors, cleaned windows, picked up litter and dead leaves, done gardening, made tea, distributed fliers, paid bills, kept simple accounts, answered telephones (within three rings!) and etc. She has taken minutes for the Airport City Business Centre Business Owners Association breakfast meetings twice and even translated the minutes to Bahasa Melayu as well as translated an official 12-page Pos Malaysia legal contract from Bahasa Melayu to English. She has even climbed onto my office roof to retrieve a pair of gloves.
Clearly, she is not one to shirk responsibility. You will never hear her utter "That is not my job." Her sense of responsibility is such that "if a task needs to be done, someone has to do it. If I can do it, then, consider it done."
In the final analysis, when it comes to what really matters, despite her youth and demure outward appearance, Alia is someone who possesses that rare inner strength ~ deep inside, right down to the core, she is tough as nails.
I can recommend her for any position her heart desires without the slightest reservation ~ for I know she will rise to the challenge.

www.couching.com got zapped!
| Update: Friday, June 30, 2006 6 pm - Eastern Time CouchSurfing Community, Thank you for your continued support during this difficult period. Both the moral support and offers of technical help have been incredibly inspiring. We are currently exploring options as to what actions to take next. One way or another, the energy and spirit of CouchSurfing will certainly live on. How that takes shape is yet unknown. Please bear with us while we continue to take stock of the possibilities at hand. You can keep up with the process in CS Chat at http://chat.couchsurfing.com or through bulletin boards now set up at http://couchsurfing.hyperboards.com. Also, we understand that this catastrophe is affecting a large portion of the membership who is currently traveling as well as those with CS driven travel itineraries later this summer. To address these needs, we have set up a series of "CouchSurfing Refugee" bulletin boards there as well. While we continue to sort things out, please have patience and know that there are many smart and concerned people working hard to assess the situation and decide on the best course of action. It's been a very emotional time for all of you and all of the core people of CS. We want to thank you for your warm and touching emails. You give us the strength to get through these difficult times. Thanks again,
Dear CouchSurfers, Two days ago CouchSurfing experienced what could be described as the perfect storm. The database administrators we hired made two critical mistakes. First, we had a major, avoidable hard drive crash. Secondly, the incremental back-ups weren't executed in the correct manner, and twelve of our most important data files didn't survive. I have been working non-stop trying to repair the data, but as difficult as it is for me to say, it has become clear that certain essential pieces are not recoverable. This crash happened at a particularly vulnerable time, in a transition between two back-up methods. If the crash had happened a week ago, or next week, we would have had a different outcome. It is with a heavy heart that I face the truth of this situation. CouchSurfing as we knew it doesn't exist anymore. We've had an amazing two and a half years. Members write "CouchSurfing has changed my life" and I know what they mean, it has certainly changed mine and I am eternally grateful. My vision transformed. CouchSurfing was born out of a dream I had to meet the most interesting people in world and experience their cultures, and it grew into a living, thriving family of almost a hundred thousand. This community has blossomed in beautiful ways I hadn't even anticipated. It was no longer about what I got to experience, but rather, what genuine, heartfelt good this community can offer the world. We have all opened not only our homes, but also our hearts, our lives. In sharing important moments, deep and meaningful connections have crossed oceans, continents and cultures. I saw in CS, in you, the power to change not only they way we travel, but change the world itself. Thank you, CouchSurfers. You have shown me more than I could have even known. Your generosity and spirit is a gift to humanity. I have devoted the last three years of my life to CouchSurfing. I have literally poured every cent I have into the site. I've sacrificed my health, my time, and my own ability to travel and meet people. In many ways I've put my life and wanderlust on hold to build this network. I'm not complaining; it's been a fantastic ride. As devastating as it is to consider, it looks like the ride is over. Life is continuously changing, evolving, dying and being reborn. After a fire, the earth is replenished; after a storm, the air is cleared. It feels to me like this loss of CouchSurfing is how it's meant to be. This crash is like a sign from the universe. Too many random factors aligned to make it as damaging as it is, and though I've tried everything I can and engaged the best and brightest database managers, there's just no way to get it back. In many respects it's heartbreaking, but at the same time, what we've built together is not dead, it lives on in each of us. It lives in the connections we've fostered and the culture we've created. I want us all to take this CouchSurfing spirit and continue the mission out in the world. We've all experienced this common vision and the potential it has to transform the way people relate to each other. Now it is time for all of us to not bury the dream, but rather nurture it's growth in our own ways, in new explorations and ventures. We all own a piece of the CouchSurfing flame, it's up to us to keep the fire going and light the world. So let's do it, let's light the world! What will you do with your flame? Goodnight, CouchSurfing. May our flames burn bright. I love you, If you wish to send your thoughts, encouragement or positive messages, contact us at shunyata@couchsurfing.com |

Finally, on Wednesday, June 14 2006, the main contractor for the roadworks, Bina Mahir Sdn Bhd, I was told, fixed the hole in the road. The tar was still wet when I examined it at midnight but I reckon the barriers will be removed in a day or two. Many thanks to Encik Mohd Ali Baharom for his invaluable assistance in the matter. Photographs of the repaired road will be uploaded later today.

Pos Mini Kota Warisan June 2006 Newsletter
Transit Service Centre Budget Hotel to open on June 4
A Budget Hotel is opening in Kota Warisan next to the Pos Mini Kota Warisan from June 4, 2006. The address is:
Transit Service Centre Budget Hotel
8 Jalan Airport City 2
Airport City Business Centre
Kota Warisan
43900 SEPANG
Malaysia
The rates have not been announced yet but as its a budget hotel, the room rate should be very affordable.
Food Stall Rental Available at Pos Mini Kota Warisan
With the opening of the budget hotel, I am renting out the space in front of the Pos Mini Kota Warisan to operators of food and drink stalls. So far a char kuey tiau seller and a Ramli burger stall operator have expressed interest but have not confirmed their participation. There is also a need for someone to operate a drinks stall selling tea, coffee and cold canned drinks. I have installed two outdoor electrical mains power points and two taps. A sink will be installed under one of the taps in the coming weeks. The rental is RM150/month, payable in advance. There is no deposit required. Anyone interested can contact me at 019-28-AZLAN
Pos Mini Kota Warisan to go online from June 12
This means Kota Warisan residents will be able to pay their utility bills at the Pos Mini Kota Warisan and no longer have to travel all the way to Salak Tinggi or Dengkil.
Due to the renovations going on at the budget hotel next door and on our upper floors, there is a lot of dust and noise. I have therefore taken the opportunity to send my staff for training at Pos Malaysia. This means we may operate irregular opening hours until mid-June. Our plan is to be online from June 12 but that all depends on TM Net Sdn Bhd as they still can't seem to get Streamyx up and running at the Pos Mini Kota Warisan, or anywhere else at the Airport City Business Centre. I have written to Zainab Hashim, their GM of Marketing asking for her assistance in resolving this issue. If I do not get any results from her, I'll escalate the matter to their CEO, Michael Chin Tak or even the TM Berhad chairman, Tan Sri Dato' Ir. Muhammad Radzi.

Community Notice Boards in Villa Impian & Pos Mini Kota Warisan
As a public service, Community Notice Boards have been put up at the bottom of two staircases in Villa Impian above the letterboxes as the developers and property management have just cleaned the notices stuck onto the doors and walls. There is no charge for putting up notices on these Community Notice Boards. There are also several Community Notice Boards at the Pos Mini Kota Warisan.

Number One Keling
Answer: This is typical of the way they behave in public.
Samy Vellu: Who's more barbaric, more stupid?
Doesn't machan look so handsome in his new toupé?
Incensed by Makkal Osai, which labelled MIC supporters as barbarians for burning copies of the daily on Saturday in protest against its reporting, Samy Vellu said the reporter who wrote the story was more barbaric.
"Only a bigger barbarian recognises the smaller barbarians," he said.
The controversy stemmed from reports in Makkal Osai and Malaysia Nanban which quoted Samy Vellu at the Johor party convention as saying that former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had not done anything for the Indian community.
Samy Vellu said those who wrote that story had not understood what he had said and it was a move to undermine him. The Works Minister said anybody who said Dr Mahathir had not done anything for Indians was stupid, and those who listened to them were more stupid.
On his promise to provide proof that his estranged deputy Datuk S. Subramaniam had a stake in the two dailies, Samy Vellu said he would release them when the time was right.
Earlier as he arrived to open the convention, Samy Vellu got into a heated argument at the lobby with a man.
The man, unhappy over not being picked as a delegate, hurled obscenities against Samy Vellu and left with several others after being advised by delegates.

Typical Keling Behaviour
Answer: This is typical of the way they behave in public.
Kelings turn graft trial into slanging matchKUALA LUMPUR, 23 May 2006: A keling lawyer and a keling politician shouting at each other in open court; the keling politician's supporters joining in the slanging match; the presiding judge storming out.
It had all the ingredients of a TV drama, but it was not. It happened yesterday at the Ampang court.
Policemen had to calm the two kelings, with Sessions Court judge Noradidah Ahmad returning to the bench an hour later.
The graft trial of former Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) enforcement director Captain (Rtd) Abdul Kudus Ahmad started well enough, but the problem began when his keling counsel M. Manoharan told the court he would be making an application to cite one of his keling witnesses (Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk M. Kayveas) for contempt.
"Abdul Kudus' case began in 2003, and is still ongoing. Nobody, be it a deputy minister or a minister, should comment on the case, as it would be sub judice," Manoharan said.
"However, on Jan 21, it was reported in The Malay Mail that a deputy minister commented on my client's case, which has now been turned into a trial by the media."
At this juncture, Kayveas, who was seated in the public gallery, stood up and began trading barbs with Manoharan, with each calling the other a liar.
Kayveas: "Are you talking about me?"
Manoharan: "You're not allowed to talk from the public gallery. As a witness, you should not be in the courtroom during proceedings."
Manoharan, who was seated at the bar, turned around and both pointed fingers at each other.
Kayveas: "I am a defence witness, not a prosecution witness. You called me here today, so I have the right to be in court. I am waiting for you to call me. Unless, you don't want me here... I am leaving."
Manoharan: "You are not allowed to talk."
Manoharan's assistant R. Kengatharan then stood up to say: "Get out, you deputy minister, get out of the court room."
The judge, who looked agitated, then walked off in a huff.
Kayveas and Manoharan, however, continued trading insults.
Kayveas: "You called me here as your witness, I have the right to be in court."
Manoharan: "You are a hostile witness. Do not think you are in Parliament."
Kayveas: "Don't make me wait here. I have a lot of things to do in Parliament."
Court police officers finally got them to calm down.
Proceedings resumed almost an hour later when Noradidah returned to the bench to enquire if "things had cooled down".
Manoharan: "They have. But his (Kayveas) behaviour just now was unethical. I want to make an application against my witness. He cannot simply stand up as he pleases in court. He is here to assist the court, he is not a court officer. This is not a fair trial. He comes here with his large entourage and threatens me. He was a lawyer, so he should know this is unacceptable. He was disrespectful and threatened me."
Noradidah told Kayveas to give his side of the story.
Kayveas: "I am a defence witness and was called here today but he told me to get out. I wanted to know if he needed me here. There were no threats. Maybe the air-con in the courtroom is loud, which resulted in the raised voices. I did not threaten him. He is a liar."
Manoharan then interjected, asking the judge to order Kayveas to shut up, but the deputy minister did not let up, accusing Manoharan of "creating an issue".
Manoharan: "He is a Number One liar. He kept on threatening us. He is seeking publicity. He has no right to speak. Kayveas should be punished. We will be lodging a police report against him."
Noradidah: "And you still want him as your witness?"
Manoharan: "He is a hostile witness, a ruthless man. We want the court to caution him. He was subpoenaed, so he must attend proceedings."
Earlier, before the drama began, Manoharan had made two applications to the court ~ for a retrial and to cite Kayveas for contempt based on The Malay Mail report.
