Bipolar Disorder & Mental Health
Basically, patients with this condition do not have the genetic make-up to produce adequate amounts of the essential neuro-transmitters serotonin and dopamine (brain chemicals).
As far as the Mental Health Act 2001 is concerned, mentally disordered patients with Bipolar Affective Disorder are not defined as Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) and therefore do not receive any grant or funding from the Government for treatment or medication.
Please make a donation to the:
MALAYSIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION
Tel: 03-7782 5499
Your donations will be used for the treatment and medication of bipolar patients as well as the education of the public on what is bipolar disorder, as there is a lot of stigma and prejudice in the public associated with this condition, and mental illness in general.
For example, it is difficult for patients with this disorder to get full-time jobs. More information about bipolar disorder is available from:

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
KINDLY FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ALL GENEROUS MALAYSIANS YOU KNOW.
